I am Jo Penny Yeaman, a contemporary artist, and I am fortunate enough to be able to live and paint on the beautiful Jurassic Coast, in Sidmouth, East Devon. It’s not too difficult to find inspiration!
Having previously lived in the glorious Yorkshire Dales, where there is an abundance of beauty and wildlife, I was inspired to paint brown hares and the characterful sheep indigenous to the area, and I continue to love doing so.
Living on the coast has opened up a completely new challenge….that of painting the sea. As with animals, it’s still about capturing the energy of the subject and giving it a life of its own.
I paint in all mediums - watercolour, acrylic, soft pastel and oil.
I welcome you to look at my gallery and if you are interested in any of my work, please do not hesitate to get in touch, I will be delighted to hear from you.
My work is in private collections in the UK and overseas and can also be seen in these galleries & locations:
